Make Your Show: Story Evolution is a series focused on how to potentially develop existing stage works into on-screen stories. In our second episode, writer Holli Harm's short play "Make John Patrick Shanley Go Home" is read by actors Ilana Gabrielle, Kim Reed and Abigail Gampel, followed by a discussion with Make Your Show's Jason Cicci and John Cramer.
Holli Harms is a playwright, screenwriter, short story writer, guest Lecturer at School Of Visual Arts College (SVA) NYC, as well as screenwriter for SVA. She has been awarded the Dramatist Guild Fellowship, EST/ Sloan Grant, Terence G Hall Fellowship, TNT Pops Winner and Three Time Winner of Austin Film Festival Second Rounder. She is the winner of Fishamble Tiny Plays Challenge and Sky Blue Theatre 2019 Play Competition. Her short narrative film, "Icarus Stops For Breakfast" has won over 23 film awards and continues to win. Holli is a member of Dramatist Guild, Ensemble Studio Theatre, SAG-AFTRA, AEA, and on the board of Women In the Arts and Media Coalition and a contributing writer with Monologues And Madness as well as reviewer for Front Row Center. Her short story Cereal and Fire placed first in Southern New Hampshire University's 2020 Fall Fiction Contest and is published in Penmen Review.

At a restaurant/bar in New York City, three sisters arrive for what they hope to be a nice dinner out. But with no bread on the table, or calamari on the menu and a famous playwright at the bar, tonight there will be a whole lot of stomping, finger-pointing, and bully calling.

ABIGAIL GAMPEL
Abigail Gampel is a performing artist who writes/creates many of her own works, including Through The Window, Images Through Silk, I Slept with a Beautiful Woman this Afternoon and Underground Goddess performed at The Public, The Nuyorican, The West Bank Cafe, HERE, The Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Ohio, etc.. She loved playing Julie in Showboat at the Gateway Playhouse; Virginia Hill in Flesh and the Desert with SPF and Alice Russell in Lizzie Borden- A Rock n Roll Musical and Elektra in The Elektrafugues, both at HERE. She serves on the Board of both The Ensemble Studio Theatre and The Here Arts Center.
